MyPlate illustrates the five food groups that are the building blocks for a healthy diet using a familiar image – a place setting for a meal. Before you eat, think about what goes on your plate, in your cup, or in your bowl.
The USDA CNPP was established in 1994 to improve the nutrition and well-being of Americans. One of the CNPP’s core projects to support its objectives include MyPlate which is part of the USDA Food Guidance System.
Label Insight was founded with the mission of helping consumers understand what’s in the products they use and consume. Today, our world class solution provides product transparency through data science, transforming the way brands and retailers interact with and share product data.
In partnership with the CNPP, Label Insight hopes to apply cutting-edge technology, and the experience of working with federal taxonomies for the past 6 ½ years, to deliver a level of analysis that associates the food pattern equivalent database to UPC level products, in order to reflect the nutritional composition of products bought and sold in grocery stores across the country and consumed by all Americans.
